A fracture surrounded by the growth plate?

My son fractured his thumb in the growth plate playing football and it is pretty crooked. The E.R. missed the fracture on his x-ray for 24 hrs. Now, they say they cant acquire him in for a week or more to own it casted. Is this a problem? The thumb is crooked and I don't want it to have to be reset or own a pin in it.A fracture surrounded by the growth plate?
Injury to the growth plate will emphatically cause problems latter on-probably cessation of growth in a cog of the bone. I don't know the extent or appearance of the injury but I have the consciousness that surgery is needed to correct the deformity and obviate the possible effects of the plate injury subsequently. If you have the mechanism, see a good foot or orthopedic surgeon who can attend to your son right away.
thats too bad
Talk to your doctor sooner than after that. Growth plate fx's are serious business. He needs to take that fixed before it really cause problems, the longer you wait the worse it will be. Tell your dr what the ER said and he can verbs some strings to get your kid contained by with a ortho dr soon. I enjoy dr's doing that all the time at my hospital where on earth i work.
