Why does alcohol burn when you put it on a wound?

Why does alcohol burn when you put it on a wound?
because it is killing the germs.
Because it is caustic.
because the wound is infected and its killing grems and things
Alcohol burns when you put it on a wound because it is destroying living tissue along next to the germs. Putting alcohol on an open wound can truly make the wound more susceptible to infection because of the tissue wreckage.
Because you are not supposed to put alcohol in an break open wound (they only use it to verbs intact skin)--it is destroying tissue. Best for wounds is flushing out with sea (yes, even tap is OK) or particularly dilute betadine (about the color of very vague tea).
